Sometimes after a round, I'll mentally go over my round and give my shots a rating from 0-10. -Roy

I usually do the same, at the 19th hole, drowning myself in the score that could have been.  :'(

I guess I should have posted this a couple of days sooner.  The pro shop has already placed the order for my Vokey's with DG S300's.  These are shafts I've used for the past 4 years, and I've been happy with them, but I would have given the S200's a shot.

I also have a upro.  I looked at the game tracker function and decided not to buy it.  I like good ol' pencil and paper for that.  I keep my score as well as fairways, greens, and putts.  I used to keep up-and-downs as well, not sure why I stopped.  I'll add them up when I add up my score after the round.

I use a Facebook app, http://apps.facebook.com/sigolfnation/ to track my handicap and stats.  I don't play consistently enough or with a club to use a USGA handicap, and this app tracks greens, fairways, and putts.

I have thought about using the "mark" feature on the upro to record distances for particular clubs throughout my round.  I would use a spreadsheet to keep track of my yardages.  I haven't started doing that yet.

Sometimes after a round, I'll mentally go over my round and give my shots a rating from 0-10.  If I hit a good iron shot that wound up just off the fringe but I hit it the way I wanted, it would still get a good rating.  If I got lucky and a tree spat my drive back into the fairway, it wouldn't get such a good rating.  I don't track that, but I can look back and evaluate my performance.  Usually it comes down to concentration and decision making for me.

Too funny!

That guy has come a long way from his days at Ridgemont High!

Hoffman needs to get some checkered Vans with spikes on them.  That would be cool!

I like it only for the fact that it makes the team more youthful and more dynamic.  Seeing old, boring, "grizzled vertrans" every time get's a little stale and I think having some young talent will be good for the team and good for the people watching at home, like me.

Well put.    That sums it up quite well for me even though I would watch no matter what.     We are the underdogs anyway, so why not make a little investment in the future?     Fowler's Curtis Cup record is rock solid and I'm sure Pavin took that into consideration.

Hoffman would have been OK and I see on Golfweek's website that Paul Azinger was all but lobbying for him to get a spot.

I wouldn't have guessed Fowler either.  I was wondering about Hoffman, who in addition to yesterday's win, has been playing very well of late.

Like Roy, career best of 71 (3X).  Shot 73 on Sunday, and like most of my rounds, coulda shoulda woulda saved a half dozen strokes if I putted better.  I still hope to break the 70 barrier, and the way I've played this summer, I'm certainly knocking on the door.

But here's a question for you:  when you roll in a long putt, whether it be 15 or 40 feet, do you chalk it up to some karma for the 5 footer you missed?  Last month, en route to a 72, I made some monster putts for birdies and one bellied wedge for an eagle.  Certainly not shots you expect to hole.  The way I looked at it, I had some bad swings too, so at the end of the round, it all balanced out.  Could it have been a 68, sure, but it could have just as easily been a 76.

To answer the original question though, I'd say I squander 5 shots a round, so if I'm playing really well and get ALL the breaks, I could see a 68 on the card at the end of the day.
