Mark, how does the DVS work in the SQ.   I have an SQ but could never keep it in the fairway with the Pershing shaft currently installed.

I tend to be a very good driver of the ball with Callaway products and a not so good driver of the ball with Taylormade, going all the way back to the original Ti bubble shaft driver.  I'm also crooked with the current burner offerings, but as straight as a skilled archer with the R7 limited, but twenty yards short of every Callaway I currently own.   I've always like the SQ head and often thought of swapping out the shaft in hope of better performance.

My current gamer is a FT-5 with a NVS which I hit long and straight (most of the time).  But to be honest, I currently have 22 "current" drivers sitting in an old staff bag in a spare bedroom,  each of whom are yelling "pick me" every time I go play.

Mark, how does the DVS work in the SQ.

Pretty good for me.    I'm a classic low ball hitter and the softer tip in the DVS helps me get a better launch angle and a better carry number.   My Superquad is the TP Black version even though the headcover I use is for the non-black model.

The Superquad had a stock ReAX 75 shaft in it which felt like swinging an anvil to me, so I yanked it right away.    I actually got that SQ Black brand new last fall at an Edwin Watts tent sale for a song!     The local TM rep sold it to the Watts manager who just then stuck it in the used rack.      Good thing I got to the sale early.  :)

I'm looking hard at putting a VS Proto in the Superquad though after installing a VS Proto 70 in the V-Steel you see in the pics.    I snapped the stock steel shaft in that head years ago and have had that head sitting in my closet for at least 5 years.    I found the Proto on Ebay brand new in the .350 tip for less than $50, so I bought it and installed it with the full intentions of either selling it or trading it on on something else.      I'm hitting this combo so well though I can't part with it now.    I'm getting a really good ball flight out of the V-Steel / Proto setup that I really wasn't expecting given the firmer tip section when compared to the DVS.      I had a 70g DVS in a Mizuno F-60 which can't hold a candle to the V Steel / Proto.

How much does that all weigh?  Looks like a real back breaker.

All kidding aside, that looks great.  Although I stuck with Ping, Mizuno is still calling my name.

More than I will ever carry.   I just retired a Mizuno Renegade bag I used when I walk.     I'd never lug that staff bag around 18 holes.
